- Relational preaching emphasizing a shared journey of faith and inviting the congregation to identify themselves in God's story of redemption is most effective in supporting and strengthening a congregation's strategic planning process. The author used the biblical stories of the call of Abraham and Sarah and Moses and the Israelites in the wilderness in helping the congregation identify its own journey with God.
