Abstract
  • The purpose of this project was to examine, select, and translate a structured introductory discipleship training program, with contextualized evangelism and discipleship. The Growing in Christ material, published by the Navigators, was translated into the Vietnamese language for the purpose of discipling new Vietnamese immigrant converts in Canada. The case study and survey methodology were employed to conduct research and collect data. The proposed discipleship material was field-tested. Average and mean responses of the questionnaire were tabulated and analyzed. One of the six major findings emerging from this study is that discipling new Vietnamese immigrant converts in Canada is greatly needed, and must take place immediately after conversion, rather than after a long delay (presently averaging 3.5 years).
