Abstract

Choir ministry is in serious decline today, and churches are disbanding choirs and replacing them with praise teams. The reasons are many, including: many see choirs as dated and irrelevant; increasing business and life challenges of Christians preclude participating fully; decline of interest and desire in younger generations to participate; and the natural attrition of older, faithful generations retiring. However, the Bible reveals that choir is a God-ordained ministry, for heavenly and earthly worship. Therefore, the purpose of this project was to give the Worship Choir at Taylor Memorial Baptist Church a new appreciation of its history, role, and relevance.
