Abstract
  • The project evolved from a concern over the lack of printed material describing the essence of the Baptist Bible Fellowship International. The hypothesis was that the BBFI is a formidable separatist movement, that it reflects the archetypal fundamentalist doctrinal position constructed at the turn of the century, and that its original purpose and identity remain intact. Both historical and empirical research methods were employed. It was determined that the BBFI does reflect the fundamentalist doctrinal position, that it has retained its original purpose and identity, and appears to be the largest expression of fundamentalism in America.
