Abstract
  • This study examines how schools for the blind meet religious needs and proposes a program for doing so at the Kentucky School for the Blind. The impact of religion on some of the first schools for the blind is reviewed and a survey is made of 43 such schools to explore how religious needs are currently being met. A model based upon liberation theology and the chaplaincy is presented as a feasible approach to meeting religious needs on a residential campus.
