Abstract
  • The thesis of the project is that all Christians are a part of the church's laity and share in the mission of the church in the world. In that mission all believers are called to be ministers. The project occurred during 1985-86 on a navy aircraft carrier. It was initiated to meet the pluralistic religious needs of 4900 embarked personnel. The project utilized a biblically based model of ministry that included facilitating, supporting, and supervising the ministry of the laity.
