Abstract

This project results from the author's long-standing concern about the assumptions of congregations beginning a building or remodeling program. They frequently seem more concerned with the church's new appearance than how the building will aid in carrying out the mission and conducting the worship of their church. The handbook is to be used to assist the congregation as it engages in dialogue about the mission of the church and the worship of their congregation. Each of three chapters leads participants through analyses of mission and liturgical dimensions which can have significant bearing on the planning of the building.
