Abstract

This project will design an interactive CD-ROM to accompany Haddon Robinson's textbook Biblical Preaching (second edition). The enhancement of computer-based software and improvements in microcomputers and operating systems is enabling the design and development of a wide range of multimedia education compact disc (CD) products. I will use this technology to create an interactive tool that supplements classroom lessons and the individual reading of the textbook Biblical Preaching. Because students have different perceptual strengths, information on the CD-ROM will be presented in a variety of formats. The exercises will incorporate the use of audio and video, as well as written text to accommodate the different ways that people process information. My philosophy in regards to the interactive CD-ROM is that learners should be able to approach learning in a way that takes account of their own learning needs and learning style. Learners will be expected to decide for themselves when to study, their pace of study, the level and type of materials that they use, and the type of learning tasks that they undertake.
