Abstract
  • This study employs the method of sermon preparation detailed in John McClure's book, The roundtable pulpit: where leadership and preaching meet in a small membership congregation. This method was used to develop a congregation's understanding and use of its mission statement. A series of six roundtable conversations was undertaken, each conversation focusing on a different element of the mission statement. Sermons were developed from these conversations. This collaborative leadership model is promoted as an effective means of congregational revitalization.
