Abstrait

Black adolescents are being destroyed by anger and the problem appears to be escalating rather than decreasing. Anger, itself, is not necessarily a negative characteristic. In fact, when managed properly, anger can be healthy; when mismanaged anger can be destructive. Historically, the Black church and the Black family have been the filtering systems which assisted blacks to develop methods and learn to effectively deal with dysfunctional elements in the total society. However, with the numerous changes in the total social order, the Black family and the Black church have discovered that counteracting these destructive forces has become very complicated. Today and probably in the future these and other complications will require a new or corrected paradigm if we are to rescue our youth and equip them with the instruments necessary for quality survival and constructive living.
