- Abstract
- This research project uses a strategy for increasing spiritual growth in the believers at River Cities Community Church, Huntington, WV. A long-term sermon plan was developed and implemented using the book of 1 Corinthians. An instrument was developed and used to pretest and posttest in order to measure the effectiveness of the program. Focus groups were utilized to complement the quantitative data. The analysis of the posttest and data from the focus groups show a measurable change toward growth in some areas of Scriptural beliefs, attitudes, values, and behavior. The conclusion of this research project is that spiritual growth can be measurably influenced in a congregation through a long-term sermon plan.
