  • This doctoral project was designed to further equip a regional team of corporate chaplains residing within the Southeastern United States. Initially, the need was identified for the chaplains to receive training concerning greater spiritual formation competencies. An equipping program model was employed to address this need. Preparation for this project included extensive research of ministry burnout, the field of spiritual formation, and the classic spiritual disciplines of the Christian faith. Significant survey work was carried out with the team to understand more about their spiritual health and personal devotional practices. Three virtual teaching sessions were eventually prepared and presented to the team. The first session introduced the chaplains to the problem and scope of ministry burnout. Whereas the second and third sessions provided training on spiritual disciplines and their effective use in improving spiritual vitality while also preventing burnout.
