Abstract
  • This project explores the nature of sacred speech in worship, concentrating on the Children's Sermon. It analyzes the current state of the art and describes historical and modern attitudes toward children in the church and the meaning and purpose of Christian worship in order to support children's sermons in the liturgy. Baptized children represent a theological class for congregations and preaching to them is a visible sign of the boundless love of God that embraces all. The project concludes with a collection of narrative sermons for children set in various liturgical seasons.
