Abstract
  • This study established a practical and theological framework for developing strategic culinary ministries in local churches. The frequency and range of church kitchen use was studied by surveys and interviews of 29 churches across 10 denominations. Kitchen operations, food preparation, kitchen utility, and the connections between the kitchen and the pulpit were studied. Support was found for church kitchens being an important resource for the development of community, hospitality, and celebration in the local church.
