- Abstract
- The author was surprised to learn that during the 15 years of Shatin Baptist Church (Hong Kong, China)'s ministry, no teaching or training programs on stewardship were conducted. The issue of giving is one of the most neglected topics in Christian ministry today. The main objectives of the project included: teaching biblical contents related to the concept of stewardship giving; helping participants actualize monthly tithes or increase monthly giving according to biblical teachings; developing a teaching program on stewardship giving to be incorporated into the teaching system of the church; and, helping the congregation to become more aware of the responsibility of being a steward in the Kingdom of God. Evaluation results indicated that all objectives for the program were realized. Yet results also warned that without long-term, planned and continuous teaching the positive might just be short term and the impact not be long lasting.
