Abstract
  • Heart disease patients suffer the loss of physical, psychological and religious health. Medicine and psychology treat physical and psychological problems. Pastoral care ought to include more than sacramental care for adult Catholic cardiac victims as these people and their families need to recover their religious health. The model offers descriptions of the categories of heart disease which suggest the type of affective problems in need of treatment in the patient and in the family. The knowledge helps the pastor to plan the pastoral therapy to include the appropriate theory of personality and behavior to treat negative problems already in consciousness. Having done so, the pastor employs the Christian faith processes to facilitate faith recovery and functioning.
