  • The hypothesis of this thesis, statistically supported after a survey of heads of independent Episcopal schools, is that leaders of independent Episcopal schools leave or consider leaving because of failed relationships between them and their boards or board chairpersons. Schools experiencing either loss of heads and/or residual dissonance can be assuaged using emotional intelligence and its competencies. A ministry to ministers is created, teaching and coaching in seminars, group work, and other consultative initiatives to leaders and others in schools; ministry best exercised by a wise person modeled after one found in the annals of Ancient Israel
