Abstract
  • Through personal experience and social and biblical study, this project explores the understanding that Christ calls us to care for the homeless. Such understanding took concrete form when twelve people undertook a structured project involving group study, journaling, and direct involvement with the homeless and their advocates. A proposal calling for church involvement with the homeless evolved. The strength of the project/study arose out of one constant: exploring the relationship between spirituality and servanthood. The endeavor to understand more fully this relationship enabled a spirit of solidarity to grow within the group and in their relationship with the homeless.
