  • This project is a case study of an intelligent young woman who suffers from low self-esteem, guilt, and depression due to poor parenting. She presents herself as in desperate need of affirmation. The woman feels that she is not in control of her life and is a failure in both her profession and her marriage. The author uses object relations mode of therapy to treat the woman. He integrates this approach with theological aspects which are suggested by Paul Tillich's writings. The client's husband joins her in therapy. This addition contributes to the building of a satisfying marital relationship. The woman's improved self concept results in meaningful relationships with God and with others.
