Abstract
  • The study re-examines the concept of religious syncretism and the doctrine of faith in view of the changing theological understanding of contextualization in the Korean church. A literature review related to the indigenization of the Christian faith in Korea begins the study. Research also was conducted to discover shamanistic factors in Christian faith in the Korean church. The study concludes that local ministers should study shamanism; the shamanized Christian faith must be restored to its original nature; and the shamanistic mind set of the Korean people should be developed as a resource for mission work.
