Abstract
  • Virtually any area of our nation can and does periodically experience a major disaster. The event itself may exist only a few moments, but its impact and consequences can extend for weeks, or months, and sometimes years. In short, when a disaster occurs, a crisis is produced which has immediate and long-term effects upon the total community. The intent of this project is to provide a resource guide for volunteers who are selected by their church bodies or congregations and who are willing to become consultants or counselors at disaster sites. The feedback of a training workshop is recorded and an analysis is offered in the closing chapter for determining the future usefulness of the project.
