  • The promise of hope in pastoral counseling presents an integrative approach and model of pastoral counseling. In chapter one the author grounds The hope of pastoral counseling in biblical anthropology. Chapter two defines and presents a theory and practice of pastoral counseling committed to integration. Chapter three is a review of literature researched by the author in defense of the thesis. Chapter four presents case studies: one major case, followed by abbreviated cases, concluding with a reflection on bereavement. The final chapter identifies the message of God and the model of Jesus in the 21st century.
