Abstract
  • This project recounts the efforts of one church that designed and implemented an evangelistic program in a city that had experienced an influx of new churches. Since these church plants were virtually identical in terms of time and style of service, the need arose to develop something antiparadigmatic. With a rationale in place for a hybrid church to meet on an alternate night, next came the planning and research phase, culminating in the launch of 'The Journey.' One year later 'The Journey' came to an abrupt end. What went wrong? This heartbreaking venture offers invaluable how-to insights and what-not-to-do lessons to those sharing a similar vision of outreach.
