Abstract
  • The First Congregational Church in Bloomfield, Connecticut, provided the context for a project which explored with adults how they can and do learn in the contemporary church, especially in 'the second hour' following worship on Sunday mornings, and which prepared them to take greater responsibility for the adult education in their congregation. By the time the project was concluded, participants had grown in awareness of the issues and of one another, but their brief experience offered only hints about how fully they applied those learnings in their day-to-day lives in the workplace, the schoolyard, and the home.
