Abstract
  • District superintendents in the United Methodist Church are rarely invited to examine their source of vitality as the bonding agents in the denomination. This survey model invited fourteen district superintendents across the connection to claim the underlying spiritual power available to them in a ministry of administration. Results of the surveys show that district superintendents desire a disciplined spiritual life. The shape of that spiritual formation will differ from one individual to the next. Out of different needs and experiences, district superintendents can be encouraged to grow and mature spiritually.
