Abstract
  • The subject of this project is how to prepare for the continued vitality of older established churches in small towns and/or rural areas. Often those of us who find ourselves in these situations look for a pre-packaged program that will simply plug into the current church. The research discloses that pre-packaged programs have a fatal flaw in that they are not transculturally friendly. It also discloses that it is better to develop a program based on the specific culture in which the church is located. The method used was a branch of ethnography, qualitative interviewing.
