- Abstract
- This project uses a theological model (Whitehead Method in ministry) to integrate denominational tradition (Lutheran), culture (Jungian psychology) and experience (MBTI, personality type theory). The result informs four tasks of pastoral care: 1) training of volunteer leadership, 2) planning job careers with teens, 3) offering spiritual direction, and 4) assisting worship leaders in their planning. Pastoral care is trinitarian. Gifts given in creation (personality types) provide the means to the common unity to which the Church is called (sanctification). Such harmony is made possible through atonement (redemption). Decisions are made by consensus. Plurality is acknowledged. Variety is cherished. All pastoral care tasks field test positively in congregational settings.
