Abstract
  • This project was developed to help the Christian Church find ways which enable lay persons to more fully realize their value as persons created by God. This realization enhances self-esteem which in turn directs persons to the wholeness and joy of the Lord. Participants, through a personal study of theology and psychology, were given the opportunity to integrate their insights into human life. Each project associate had time for self-reflection and discovery so that they, as the church, could work intentionally at being an affirming body. The author outlined this concept, termed 'affirmation', and its biblical, theological and psychological bases. He reported the process of the project, as well as the results. The project included contextual and biographical statements. It showed positive results and is considered a success.
