- Abstract
- The purpose of this project was to develop and teach a creative model for decision-making in moral choices for Christians in Chile. Theological insights from J Fowler, ethicist Glen Stassen, and Craig Dykstra were woven into a complex decision-making model for ethical decision-making. Literary research from Chile, as well as the United States, revolved around the cultural factors that operate within this focused Latin American community. Theological, pastoral, and structural factors were considered as well. The social research tools involved structured interviewing and pretest/posttest questionnaires. Results from the project show that Chilean Christians have deep verbal-emotional commitments to ethical decision-making, but lack the theological and biblical resources for developing those commitments into consistent Christian conduct.
