Abstract
  • Biotechnology is a revolutionary technology and represents a substantial challenge to the religious community. Establishment of a dialogue around ethical issues between those engaged in biotechnological research and members of the ethics/religious communities would provide a forum for exploration of shared issues. The author presents such a model through establishment of a dialogue between researchers from the Monsanto Company and a heterogeneous group of religious leaders from the St Louis, Mo area. The model is found to be functional and is suggested for use in similar situations.
