Abstract
  • Pastor Care provides biblical and practical strategies to decrease forced resignations and increase the overall career length of pastors. The project surveys literature reviewing issues facing pastors. The author surveyed 900 churches in five evangelical Canadian congregational-based denominations, covering denominational leaders, the senior pastor, and a key lay leader from each church. Pastor Care proposes that with denominational leaders acting as a catalyst, lay leaders can create a culture of care among local church leaders and assist pastors to find a mentor. Pastor Care includes manuals for denominational leaders, lay leaders and pastoral mentors to implement the above goals.
