Abstract

With estimates of over 2,000 million people in the world who are still culturally and linguistically distant from a Christian witness, the task of completing the Great Commission is daunting. When one considers the poverty, geopolitical distance, backward or even barbaric lifestyles, and spiritual resistance of these peoples, there is little wonder why they remain unreached. The Lampungese of South Sumatra, Indonesia, represent such a people. They are culturally separated from the Javanese and Batak Christians who live in their province. They are geopolitically isolated from the main island of Java and they are economically and technologically challenged, having been slow to adjust to the modernization happening around them. This project is about the strategizing and implementation of an effective and contextual plan to reach the Lampungese with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
