Abstract

This work proposes the collaboration of pastors in the process of preparing sermons. It is concerned with the proper understanding and functioning of a team and how a team improves the quality of sermons. The thesis begins by showing that preparation teams are in-line with direct and indirect emphasis of Scripture. Principles for the effective function of a preparation team are drawn from business literature about teams. The work also includes a survey of pastors with experience in a sermon preparation team. The thesis concludes with a handbook for pastors wishing to start a preparation team.
