Abstract
  • The author researched the challenges facing families in which the husband and/or the wife have children from a previous marriage. These 'remarried' families were found to have many of the same needs as first, or in tact families, but also had unique needs growing out of the circumstances of either death or divorce, and subsequent remarriage. The data was gathered in a parish setting with several remarried families participating in structured interviews. These same families also became a study group using the curriculum that was eventually developed. The research and project demonstrated that remarried families can benefit from marriage and family enrichment techniques.
