Abstract
  • Unity is centred not in common theology or spirituality but in faith in Jesus Christ, with all its diversity, and is truly expressed only through the interrelationship of that diversity. Evidence is drawn from New Testament conflict situations, a historical survey of the Uniting Church and its antecedents, and interviews with parishes and church leaders representative of the diversity of the church. A small-group study series is also presented. From the evidence a call is made for diversity in the church to be celebrated an d to interract in the formation of the mission of the church.
