  • This project explores the role of preaching in the ongoing conversion and spiritual formation of adults within a liturgical context, examining how three distinct groups hear and respond to preaching offered through the church year cycle. Each group exhibits distinctive characteristic needs and responses: agnostics and convinced atheists respond from a decidedly preconversion stance; catechumens, the newly baptized, and others who have recently returned to congregational life come to learn and to grow; theologically mature church members who exhibit discipleship in daily life respond out of their learning and experience.
