  • Readers of the thesis will ascertain how racism and its various manifestations compromised the effectiveness of the United Methodist Church and the Baltimore Conference. The thesis also refutes theological and biblical justifications for racism and suggests methods of addressing the issue today. The project was a six-week presentation shared with selected members of an all-white church and an all-black church who studied the material researched for the thesis. As the group met and discussed racial issues that have often prohibited Christian fellowship, interracial communication and understanding was increased.
