Abstract
  • This project prepares members of Mount Hope African Methodist Episcopal Church (White Plains, NY) to recruit new members and expand Christian social witness beyond the walls of the church building through renewed understanding of the doctrine of Zion Methodism. The project conducts classes in Zion Methodist doctrine, training for evangelism and revivals for recruiters, and workshops on voter-registration drives. Although they do not yield immediate results in recruiting new members, these activities reinforce faith and understanding of doctrine among Mount Hope members.
