Abstract
  • This project provided a ministry of companionship to parents of handicapped children. It equipped the parents with the skills necessary to manage no-end grief. No-end grief manifests in parents of handicapped children as unrelenting episodes of grief with no predictable conclusion. During a six-week workshop, the instructor introduced a proactive grief management tool he calls Flash Grief. This tool allowed the parent to focus on the issue prompting the grief feelings and to respond to the prompter rather than reacting based upon the feelings.
