  • 'We've come this far by faith': African-American Catholics in a new paradigm in the twenty-first century
Abstrakt
  • This project addressed challenges faced by two predominately African-American Catholic congregations as they merge and being a construction project. The uniqueness of this project is that it offers parishioners an opportunity to use story sharing and the grieving process to deal with the change and transition associated with this move. Focus group sessions and 'town-hall' meetings provide opportunities for sharing and growth. The results of the model, which were evaluated using qualitative analysis, show a transformation in both parishioners and leadership.
