Abstract
  • This project describes the organization and teaching of an advanced homiletics course for seminary level students. The main focus of the course is sermon preparation rather than the actual sermon itself. In an effort to improve the enjoyment and productivity of the sermon preparation experience the course explores creativity and the creative process and uses methods and techniques designed to enhance the preacher's creativity. The paper explores the concept of creativity from biblical, theological and psychological perspectives. The students report that their sermon preparation time is facilitated and enriched by the lessons learned in the course.
