Abstract
  • This project proposes that tours of Israel and the lands of the Bible, when conducted by expert instructors following a formal program of biblical studies, can be a highly effective means of Christian education. With the cooperation of Lutheran seminaries in Philadelphia and Gettysburg and the Council for Theological Education in the Northeast, the project offers two tours with professors leading educational programs and opportunities for formal course credit. People who undertake a journey to Israel as a pilgrimage for religious benefit can profit from informed leadership and disciplined instruction.
