Abstract
  • This project proposes a model plan for peace and justice education in Muslim countries, based on careful analysis of attitudes toward peace, war, and socioeconomic justice in classical Islam and in contemporary theory and practice among fundamentalists, modernists, and Sufis. Recent wars, continuing tensions, and high military expenditures make peace and justice education an urgent need in Muslim countries. The project framework can be used in departments of religious studies in Muslim countries.
