- Abstract
- This paper describes the formation of city-wide house-to-house prayer meetings in Jamaica, New York among the members of the Jamaica Seventh-Day Adventist Church with a small group approach. The members were inspired to participate by preaching four sermons and conducting three four-hour seminars on three consecutive Sundays from March through April 2002. The prayer meetings were conducted successfully in nearly 20 homes over a five-week period. Members were able to attend any prayer meeting through the week at 7:30 p.m. from Sunday through Wednesday in the homes or at the church. The experiment resulted in doubling the attendance from 70 to nearly 140 per week.
