Abstract
  • The project proposes to answer the question, 'Can an outpost begin with an identifiable 'target group' on a shoestring budge using a cadre of elders as leaders and/or enablers to establish a worshipping community?' Methods employed include academic research balanced with practical on-site involvement. The study concludes that outposting by particular congregations can work and should be encouraged in addition to or as viable alternatives to denominational strategies. It is hoped that results of this project will be used by sessions, congregations, church planters, evangelists, and those who impact directions and decisions concerning policy on outreach and evangelism in the high governing bodies.
