- Abstract
- The objective of this ministry project was that members of First Baptist Church, Harrogate, Tennessee, would discard their maintenance approach to church life and adopt the church's historic identity of being a Great Commission Church as their new vision for the future. The objective was facilitated through a strategic sermon series with 'dig-deeper' discussion sessions, reflection sessions, and a vision celebration service. Research and evaluation was conducted through congregational questionaires and response forms. This project demonstrated that strategic preaching with appropriate follow-up sessions is a valuable tool in aiding a congregation to reclaim their historic identity.
