Abstract
  • As the numbers of elderly increase in our society and in our churches today, there is a growing need for an intentional ministry aware and trained in the losses and transitions faced by those of advanced years. The Judeo-Christian heritage provides an ethical mandate for this kind of diakonia or service. This project is a result of research on the needs of the elderly, especially those who have become frail and require assistance and how pastoral care can best satsisfy those needs. Guidelines for initiating such a ministry along with the necessary training are included.
