Abstract
  • This project proposes a process of education, immersion, and development of a mission statement to help local congregations comprehend and articulate a clear vision of what it means to be the Body of Christ sharing the Christian gospel in their local communities. Through gathering of congregational history, assembly of timelines and demographic profiles, outreach committee hearings with 'key community informants,' Bible studies and sermon series on the mission of the church, and congregational development of a mission statement and visionary ministry goals, the process lays an effective theological foundation for ministry and mission.
