Abstract
  • This project conducts a case study of the 16-year ministry of Lighthouse Church (Newark, NJ) in order to assist congregations that desire to address emergency cases of hunger and hopelessness in their communities. Drawing on interviews with recovering homeless persons to whom the Lighthouse has ministered, as well as an ecumenical array of ministers and city leaders, the project illustrates the ways that the Lighthouse has influenced individuals and the community, offering hope to the hopeless.
