Abstract
  • This project examines the scriptural mandate for discipleship and its application within the local church to develop leaders. A framework for leadership development was established through an overview of biblical and church history and an examination of current leadership development trends. Intervention consisted of a series of sermons, 'Nehemiah on leadership,' and a small group study on 'The measure of a man' by Gene Getz. Analyses were performed to determine their effectiveness. Both interventions proved to initiate positive change toward leadership development, with the small group showing a slightly more positive level of change.
